Celebrating Four Years of Impact In Progressive Education
As we move towards the fourth anniversary of the A.S. Neill Summerhill CIC, a non-profit organisation, we stand on the cusp of a new chapter in our journey of transformation and growth.
What began as a vision to promote core Summerhill values within progressive education, childrearing, and community has blossomed into a vibrant hub of innovation, collaboration, and growth.
At the heart of our journey lies the foundational course, “ROLE OF THE ADULT,” which has been the cornerstone of our efforts to empower practitioners and redefine the landscape of education.
Over the past four years, this course has touched the lives of countless participants, instilling in them a deep understanding of A.S. Neill’s philosophy and the importance of happiness and well-being in child rearing and development.
It is equipping them with the tools to reflect on their practice, and to help them implement genuine child-centred methods into their work environments.

Today, as we reflect on our achievements and lessons learned, we are also excited to build upon these strong foundations and expand our offerings to encompass a diverse range of educational, consultancy, and research projects.
From exploring archive materials related to A.S. Neill and Summerhill to delving into broader topics of learning, children’s development, and community dynamics, our endeavours will continue to push the boundaries of educational research and practice.

Based on your feedback, we are also in the process of creating mini-courses that will build on the key topic areas of “The Role of the Adult”, helping to guide and install these theories into practice.
