If you’ve been on FoodTok lately, you’ve probably seen more videos than you can count of the viral Fullstar Vegetable Chopper, currently selling for $29.99 on Amazon. TikTokers, like @glenxda, have been showing off their gadgets that easily dice vegetables into cubes by placing the produce on top of the blade and then firmly pressing down. The chopped vegetables land in the container below, eliminating the need for any knives and cutting boards.
People are loving the tool — and understandably so. However, if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, Aldi is now selling its own version for just $10. The Crofton Food Chopper boasts four different chopping attachments: a spiralizer, chopper, slicer, and dicer. The catching tray will hold up to five cups of chopped food at a time, similar to the Fullstar competitor. It also comes with a handy cleaning tool to scrape the produce residue out of the blades.
“I for real cannot wait for mine to come!!! I eat salad everyday and this will make them so much easier to prepare!” wrote one commenter on TikTok. “I told myself I didn’t need this… now I have to order it,” said another user.
While the gadget may be a bit of a hassle to clean, it will certainly make meal prepping just a little bit easier. The product has gone viral for a reason: People love the convenience of chopping vegetables without breaking out the cutting board. Anything that breaks the barrier of crafting delicious meals, right? Users are even experimenting with other foods like deli meats and cheeses to create a hearty one-bowl salad. Although some reviewers have mentioned chopping meat isn’t as seamless as vegetables due to its texture, you may want to try it out for yourself.
Whether you opt for the Amazon version or the Aldi alternative, you truly can’t go wrong.
