How To Make an Avocado Last Ten Times Longer by Freezing it

We all love avocados, but we are all aware of the fact that these delicious, buttery green fruits are quite expensive. Apart from that, avocados have short shelf life.

Most of us are are not able to buy or grow organic avocadoes, so we often buy those pre-plucked offerings on the market. These avocados are too hard in the first few days, then quite firm, but also soft, and smooth at the same time, and then they become an overripe mush.

Due to their ripening progression, unfortunately, stocking up on avocados while they are in season is not possible. However, this is not the case anymore! We have some amazing news for you!

This is how to enjoy in your favorite fruits regardless of the time in which you buy them! So, next time you have the opportunity to buy avocados cheap, simply buy as much as you can.

This is how to store them:

  1. Leave them at room temperature for 5 days to ripen. Moreover, they ripen extremely fast of you place them in a paper bag. Also, they ripen quickly beside apples and bananas.
  2. Then, slice the fruit, remove its pit and in order to keep the flesh, keep the halves in the skin.
  3. On the halves, brush some lime or lemon juice.
  4. Then, place the avocados in a gallon- size freezer bag and use a vacuum seal {straw and lungs} to remove the air from the bag.
  5. Then, refrigerate them and leave them to in the fridge for 3 days to freeze.
  6. Then, when you need them, simply squeeze the fruit gently and they will easily detach from the skin. Moreover, some even advise spraying the avocado edges with cooking spray in order not to turn brown.

Avocado can be the best healthy addition to numerous dishes. You can add avocado slices in your black bean burgers, as well as triple bean veggie burgers. Also, you can mash frozen avocados and prepare a delisious guacamole or pico de gallo.
